Preparing for the Unexpected: Dedicated Maritime Training Services
Visiomare GmbH (the company behind sar-consulting.eu), founded by Juliana Schmidt-Theurer in 2022, aims to establish professional maritime search and rescue operations in commercial shipping. With a focus on increasing safety at sea, visiomare offers comprehensive search and rescue training to captains, officers, and personnel from various institutions. This training empowers them to not only respond but also take proactive measures in emergency situations, fostering effective collaboration with SAR organizations and ensuring the safe return of seafarers.
In 2017 Juliana transitioned to land-based work and started working for the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Bremen/DGzRS). In the early 2020s, she assumed dual roles, maintaining her position at the MRCC while venturing into training. As a certified trainer at the Simulator Center of the Sea Rescue Academy of the DGzRS, she played a crucial role in developing and implementing courses such as OSC Basic, Advanced & Refresher. Additionally, she designed comprehensive training concepts in maritime English for the professional development of DGzRS colleagues.
